2022 Rosé

Aromatic and generous, with just a whisper of color, she is dusty rose and raspberries, sweet basil and nilla wafers, with a touch of thyme and salty grapefruit carrying through to the most fresh and lively palate.

This is the Rosé I have always wanted to make.

Pair this with a friend who doesn’t mind your flaws, seared scallops, Thai papaya salad, or a springtime pasta carbonara.

Vineyard notes

We had a slow and cool start to the year, which resulted in lower than normal yields. We babied these vines through the dry spring, and made several harvest passes to ensure we picked every cluster at optimal ripeness. The fruit came in before the heat started settling in, so as to avoid shrivel or sunburn. As a result, we were happy to be working with fresh flavors and perfectly balanced fruit.

Production notes

Both picks were harvested in the cool of early morning, and very gently whole cluster pressed. The juice was naturally cold settled, then racked to neutral French oak barrels. After a few days, fermentation began without the addition of commercial yeast. The finished wine matured in oak until it was ready for blending and bottling in the spring of 2023.
