Alecia Moore

Alecia Moore

Founder & Winemaker

Winemaker, Alecia Beth Moore Hart, grew up in Pennsylvania before running away at age 15 to join the “circus”. She lived in Atlanta for four years, and then moved to California, where she’s been for the last 22 years. While traveling on tour, doggedly and passionately pursuing music and performance, a second passion was born. It grew in the soils of the world, stoked by winegrowers and farmers and their infectious enthusiasm for their land and their purpose. Being a woman, a mother, and a moon worshipper who believes that dreams will come true if you listen to them and then work for them, she brought herself and her family to the breathtaking Santa Ynez Valley in 2013. There, she became the steward of an 18 acre organic vineyard (now 25 acres); rolled up her sleeves, and got to work. She threw herself into the vineyard practices with the goal of knowing intimately the strengths and challenges of the land. For many years she made wine quietly in her garage with her friend and partner, Alison Thomson, until finally the winery was conceived and built. Two Wolves was born and the duo remains side by side.

Our Philosophy: to live and work with Mother Nature and bring forth the experience of the place. And it is such a beautiful place. Most of the wines are bottled as single varietals, because they can stand alone and they like to speak for themselves. Our approach is to be guides, to learn each year what the vines need, to listen to what they are telling us, and to allow them their perfect expression.

Alison Thomson

Co-Winemaker & Director of Operations

It all began at a dinner party—when Alison Thomson was introduced to Alecia Moore. Little did she know; the small gathering of friends was actually a job interview that would lead Alison to her dream role as Alecia’s right hand at Two Wolves.

That evening, Alecia peppered Alison with questions about her journey into winemaking. Alison shared that her passion for all things food—growing, cooking, and eating—began in childhood. This interest led her to study Ecology and Italian at UC Santa Barbara, where she fell in love with the natural world—and with her future husband. During a semester abroad in Siena, Italy, she had the incredible opportunity to experience local cuisine, wine, and culture daily, inspiring her to see wine as a perfect way to combine her passions.

Alison immersed herself in the study of viticulture and enology at UC Davis, earning her master’s degree in the field. She took a short break to work harvest with renowned winemaker Sergio Germano at Ettore Germano in Barolo, Italy. Upon returning to California, she completed her degree and moved back to Santa Barbara, working at Sine Qua Non and later as Steve Clifton’s assistant at Palmina Winery, where she crafted Italian varietals grown locally. After a tenure at Samsara, along with consulting roles in winemaking and vineyard management, and eventually launching her own wine brand, Alison honed her skills, passion, and palate—perfectly positioning her to help Alecia launch Two Wolves.

When Alison isn't making wine, she enjoys beach days with her husband and two kids, skiing, gardening, traveling, and live music.

Jenae Unruh

Jenae Unruh

Sales & Marketing Manager

Jenae’s love for wine began during her college years in Santa Barbara, where weekends spent exploring local wineries and tasting rooms sparked a lasting curiosity. What started as a hobby soon grew into a passion—and eventually, a career.

She began her journey in tasting rooms before moving into wine sales, working with several distributors across California and later in Boston. After six years on the East Coast, Jenae traded snow shovels for sunshine and returned home to Santa Barbara.

Since then, she has worked with several local wineries and joined the Two Wolves team in 2022 as DTC & Marketing Manager. In true small-team fashion, Jenae wears many hats and takes on a wide range of responsibilities wherever she’s needed. She is proud to work alongside a team of remarkable women whose dedication, creativity, and shared passion continue to inspire her every day.

Jenna Amundsen

Jenna Amundsen

Cellar Master

Jenna's journey into winemaking started on a fateful trip from her home in the midwest out to California, where she quickly realized that her newly acquired BS in English was merely going to be a stepping stone.

After working her first harvest in Paso Robles, CA, she was hooked and found her next harvest in Mudgee, Australia. She spent the next four years there working for Gilbert Family Wines, learning the craft of winemaking and gradually progressing from Harvest Intern to Trainee Assistant Winemaker. From there she worked a harvest at Mullineux in the Swartland, South Africa, before coming back to the US to quarantine for Covid. After a zoom interview with Alison and a quick google of “who is Alecia Moore,” Jenna joined the Two Wolves team in the summer of 2020. She loves the creativity and variety of her role and working with a team that feels like family.

Mikayla Avedishian-Cohen

Mikayla Avedishian-Cohen

Brand Manager

Her career began in New York City working for iconic restaurateur Danny Meyer for several years, until she was offered an opportunity to work harvest in Northern California. So, she packed her bags and moved to Napa Valley. Post harvest she accepted a position on the sommelier team at The French Laundry, where she got her true taste of the magical terroir that is California.

After several years in wine country, the city itch got her again. In 2018 Mikayla moved down to San Francisco to become the Wine Director at Dominique Crenn’s Petit Crenn. It was there, on an unexpected Sunday evening, that Mikayla met Alecia for the first time and learned of the diamond hamlet of Two Wolves. This blossomed a longstanding partnership between Chef Crenn and Alecia, from tastings to Wine Dinners to a collaborative private labell and more. Eventually, as Mikayla’s connection to Two Wolves grew, evolution led to Mikayla taking on her role as brand manager in 2020. After five years, Mikayla still proclaims her commitment to Two Wolves as long as they’ll have her!
