2019 Rosé
We’ve intentionally waited a very long time to release this wine, because it is so special we couldn’t part with it. We call it the "Blanc de Rosé." Waiting for this to be released has felt at times, a bit like waiting on Santa Clause to arrive. The color is intentionally light, an ode to the Provencal style. The incredibly giving and open aromatics remind me of the first day of Spring with wild strawberries, honeysuckle, and orange blossom. Although a very easy drinker, there’s a serious side to this bad girl.

Vineyard notes
One of the older blocks at Two Wolves, the grenache is planted on a hillside with rocky, higher magnesium soil. The crop is kept intentionally low (2-3 tons/acre) to allow the grapes to ripen evenly and preserve their natural acidity. 2019 was a cooler vintage and this allowed for beautiful aromatics and balance to show in the wine.

Production notes
Hand-picked in the early morning hours and straight to press, where it is left to rest for a couple of hours in the cold room, in hopes for a twinge of color. Lightly pressed and sent to neutral barrels for a native ferment under cold temperatures which can last for weeks, or months. While we try to discourage malo-lactic fermentation, we can't keep them all from it. Some do, some don't. Occasional aeration really keeps this juice alive, and you'll feel it in the glass.
