2017 Syrah
This wine is so gosh darn good. She’s trying to lure me away from Cabernet Franc!!! She knows my loyalty and still she calls for me!!! I’m torn. This is not the meaty, Big Syrah you may know. She is a bit more nuanced, less obvious, but she still wants your full attention. She wants you to see her. She’s elegant A.F. With notes of plum, tart black cherry, nutmeg, violets, fresh pine, and black pepper. She carries an earthy quality, and a lift of orange peel, and cardamom courtesy of its field blend lover, Malvasia Bianca.

Vineyard notes
This special little block was planted in 2014 with two different clones of Syrah along with a bit (5%) of Malvasia Bianca. The Malvasia acts like Viognier in a more traditional Rhone style planting.

Production notes
Our first vintage of this beauty was brought in early in the morning and only 60% of the clusters were destemmed. The fermentation started naturally and foot stomping was utilized once a day. After about 30 days the grapes were pressed, and the resulting wine was aged in mostly neutral barrel.
