2017 Sémillon

This one is a crowd favorite, and one of mine as well. It's an odd bird with its own ideas, and I'm obsessed with this weird bird. It spent 31 days on skins, extracting personality and structure. While it's still refreshing with its acidity and brightness, this will definitely be a conversation piece that could punch you in your mouth.

Vineyard notes

This is our first vintage of Sémillon from our 0.46 acre block planted in 2015. The soils in this section are really unique in this area and help produce beautifully balanced fruit.

Production notes

This fruit was harvested by hand and divided into two lots. Half of the fruit was pressed whole-cluster, transferred to oak and stainless barrels, and fermented utilizing native yeast. The other half was destemmed into a neutral puncheon and fermented on the skins for 31 days before being pressed. The wine was aged sur lie for 120 days before blending and bottling.
