I’m picturing a gorgeous sunny day by the sea… salty air, and the faintest fragrance of suntan lotion. Maybe this is because it’s been raining here? Back to the Rosé…
On the nose: white nectarine, freshly collected thyme, Meyer lemon blossom, honeydew melon, and brioche. On the palette, add red grapefruit and a lovely minerality. This wine is textural and creamy with beautiful acid present.
Pair with: fresh seafood, freshly shucked oysters, The Charlie Bird Farro Salad (my favorite salad, make it, you will never need another), steamed dim sum, or a panzanella salad (okay those are great too).

I’ve been meaning to pair this with a fruit rollup but Alison says I shouldn’t. We’ll see.
Ahhhh, carbonic Graciano, our beautiful mistake. This one is a real reflection of a cooler vintage, with bright red fruit, but more savory notes than in the years past. Juicy, mouthwatering freshness, raspberries, white sage, white pepper, dried roses, cinnamon sticks. This wine has so much life!
Pair with; fresh tomato pasta, seared tuna, sushi, simple roasted chicken, creamy brie, or a risotto.

This wolf is a beautiful, mysterious beast. A predator in a pine forest, where earth and animal meet.
Herbs and spices: black peppercorn, oregano, clove, nutmeg, and eucalyptus.
Fruit: juicy plum, a brambly mix of red and white currants, and cranberries.
Black olives.
A classic wine to be savored. A resinous, powerful but well-integrated creature, with serious but fine tannins and a long, long finish. Take your time with this one.
I would say pair with fresh kill (venison) but I’d probably be arrested so please don’t. Also, I love Bambi and would never eat her or her cousins, so please don’t. Maybe some jerk chicken? How about something like Coq au Vin or cacio e pepe; smoked gouda, or any vegan dish with lentils or beans or mushrooms where we know Bambi will be safe.
