We’ve intentionally waited a very long time to release this wine, because it is so special we couldn’t part with it. We call it the "Blanc de Rosé." Waiting for this to be released has felt at times, a bit like waiting on Santa Clause to arrive. The color is intentionally light, an ode to the Provencal style. The incredibly giving and open aromatics remind me of the first day of Spring with wild strawberries, honeysuckle, and orange blossom. Although a very easy drinker, there’s a serious side to this bad girl.

  • ABV 13.8%
  • Vintage 2019
  • Region Santa Barbara County
  • Varietal 100% Grenache

Food Pairing

Pair with fresh pecorino cheese, oyster mignonette, a fresh fruit tart, or a bathing suit.

Vineyard Notes

One of the older blocks at Two Wolves, the grenache is planted on a hillside with rocky, higher magnesium soil. The crop is kept intentionally low (2-3 tons/acre) to allow the grapes to ripen evenly and preserve their natural acidity. 2019 was a cooler vintage and this allowed for beautiful aromatics and balance to show in the wine.

Production Notes

Hand-picked in the early morning hours and straight to press, where it is left to rest for a couple of hours in the cold room, in hopes for a twinge of color. Lightly pressed and sent to neutral barrels for a native ferment under cold temperatures which can last for weeks, or months. While we try to discourage malo-lactic fermentation, we can’t keep them all from it. Some do, some don’t. Occasional aeration really keeps this juice alive, and you’ll feel it in the glass.

Ch CH Ch Ch Ch Ch Ch CHERRY BOMB!!!! What a fun wine to make (and drink)! The aromas and flavors of this wine are like biting into a crunchy berry with bright red fruit, cherry cola, raspberry jam, clove and violets. This feels like a nod to carbonic as opposed to fully carbonic, and it definitely throws a punch. CARBONIC??? I THOUGHT YOU’D NEVER ASK?!?! Carbonic maceration is a style of winemaking where the fermentation starts inside of each and every little berry and is started with enzymes rather than yeast. We put whole clusters into a deep, dark, stainless steel tank with dry ice, close it up and leave it untouched. The result is a lively, slightly spritzy yuminess that is hoping to be invited to the party straight-away.

  • ABV 13.2%
  • Vintage 2019
  • Region Santa Barbara County
  • Varietal 100% Graciano

Food Pairing

This wine is meant to be enjoyed chilled and young. Pair it with your summer BBQ and you will be happy.

Vineyard Notes

Funny story about Graciano...we, like many other vineyards in California, thought we planted Mourvèdre. However, because of a miscommunication Graciano was imported from Spain and planted over hundreds of acres. It was a happy accident in our case, because it turns out we love making this wine and it works beautifully in our little corner of the world.

Production Notes

We hand-picked these grapes very cold, very early, sent them whole cluster into a stainless tank. We blew her a kiss, closed her up, and let her do her thang for 21 days without any parental supervision. Then BANG! Magic fairy juice...pressed, and finished in neutral oak barrels, and bottled without fining or filtration.

This wine is so gosh darn good. She’s trying to lure me away from Cabernet Franc!!! She knows my loyalty and still she calls for me!!! I’m torn. This is not the meaty, Big Syrah you may know. She is a bit more nuanced, less obvious, but she still wants your full attention. She wants you to see her. She’s elegant A.F. With notes of plum, tart black cherry, nutmeg, violets, fresh pine, and black pepper. She carries an earthy quality, and a lift of orange peel, and cardamom courtesy of its field blend lover, Malvasia Bianca.

  • ABV 14.2%
  • Vintage 2017
  • Region Santa Barbara County
  • Varietal 95% Syrah, 5% Malvasia Bianca

Food Pairing

Pair with braised chicken, fresh arugula salad with plums, mushroom risotto with fresh herbs, olive sourdough and mimolette cheese. Or Maybe even taco night.

Vineyard Notes

This special little block was planted in 2014 with two different clones of Syrah along with a bit (5%) of Malvasia Bianca. The Malvasia acts like Viognier in a more traditional Rhone style planting.

Production Notes

Our first vintage of this beauty was brought in early in the morning and only 60% of the clusters were destemmed. The fermentation started naturally and foot stomping was utilized once a day. After about 30 days the grapes were pressed, and the resulting wine was aged in mostly neutral barrel.
